If you are a proud owner of the Xbox 360, you will be the first to play the new Call of Duty Black Ops Annihilation map packs on 6-28-11. Playstation users will have to wait. There will be 5 new maps that included 4 multiplayer maps and of coarse 1 zombie map. One thing about Treyarch, the designers of these maps are that they do create some unique and different maps but one of the major positives is that the designers listen to the feedback of its players.
Many of us who have played Black Ops since day one have made it clear that there should be less camping and more exploring type of game play. Many run and gunners are tired of searching for game players that hide in corners of the map and just sit and wait for unsuspecting players to gun down. Camping has really hindered the fun of this game but in every patch Treyarch has done something about it. I have always loved to use Sniper weapons but in the early maps there is no way to feel comfortable using a Sniper weapon and Treyarch has created maps that are sniper friendly. With that said, here are the 5 new maps that we can expect in the new Annihilation DLC.
5 New Black Ops Annihilation Maps
With Annihilation, Black Ops fans will get four exciting and unique multiplayer settings with Hangar 18, Drive-In, Silo and Hazard,” said Treyarch Studio Head, Mark Lamia. “Players will also enjoy an all-new Zombies experience, Shangri-La, an exotic and mysterious map filled with deadly traps, dark secrets and innovative gameplay that will challenge even the most daring Zombie hunters.
Famas Lovers Beware: Major Nerfage With New DLC
We all know that the Famas is one of the most popular weapons of choice for many gamers because all you have to do is basically pull the trigger with little aim. The Famas is way overpowered and has no recoil which is why so many gamers use this weapon but now Treyarch is going is nerfing this weapon big time. Now gamers are going to have to find a new weapon to use which will add a nice twist in the upcoming patch.
Treyarch’s Game Design Director David Vonderhaar confirmed via Twitter that the developers will be changing the Famas to be less appealing to Black Ops players, hopefully making people try out different weapons. The changes to be made to the Famas will be tweaks on ADS raise time; Hip fire accuracy reduction; more gun kick (so less accurate) and slightly slower re-center speed. Vonderhaar also says that fire rate, damage, range and magazine size will not be changed.

Black Ops Or Battlefield 3?
Could the reason why Treyarch keeps on creating new maps every other month be their way of trying to keep the players from jumping on the Battlefield 3 bandwagon? I do like the way they keep on creating new packs but I disagree that we have to pay for them to fix some of the major issues such as hit markers and over powered weapons. Although, I will be getting these new maps, I know I am just using these new maps to hold me over until the new Battlefield 3 comes out. I heard Battlefield 3 will be released in November but we will have to see. Please comment below and let us know if you are going to Battlefield 3 and what you think of the new Black Ops Annihilation DLC maps.
